Sunday School

Weekly Sunday School classes are offered September through June. Classes are offered for 4 year olds through adult. Most of the classes are on a lectionary based curriculm, which means lesson is based on one or more of the readings for the Sunday.

The classes meet Sunday mornings at 9am. This is between the two morning liturgies, making it easy to worship before or after classes.

Rally Day for the 2010-2011 Sunday School term is Sunday, September 12. It begins with the 10:15 Eucharist followed by a Sunday School gathering and community kids party on our park-like grounds. Classes will begin at 9:00am on Sunday, September 19, 2010.

First Communion

Generally First Communion is offered to children in the first or second grade, although St. Peter's affirms ELCA polity and receives all communicants to the table. This means we have every young children receiving.

Preparation for first communion at least once a year, but may be more often. It consists of a workshop or two classes attended by the child and the parent. Some work completed at home and a pastoral visit. The process takes about 4 to 6 weeks.

The next first communion preparation session will be offered during the fall of 2009.
